I have a stubby fat tire front fender on my fat bike. It works pretty well for its size. Anyone find that those also work sufficiently for the rear tire or is it just too far forward? Go full fender? It's a rainforest where I ride.
Depends on your frame and what you are trying to accomplish. I have a small Bucksaw and use a fender about 9” long centered on the seatstay to keep mud off the suspension linkage and water bottle. Doesn’t protect me or the dropper in the least.
If you’re wanting to keep your butt and back clean you will probably need a good sized rear fender. I zip tied a small fender onto my Stumpjumper when I was in Hawaii and it kept my rear shock mostly clean but that was about all.
