How much difference would it make using an 80mm fork on a frame meant for a 100mm fork? What would change about the ride quality?

Should also lower the BB height correct? I'm more worried about pedals catching up on things than anything. The head tube angle won't bother me too much. I just don't know if it will feel like I'm falling forward because the front end will be almost an inch lower than it is meant to be.

I lowered my fork to 80mm and it significantly helped my jumping. It helps you flatten out and match the angle of the landing. The benefits of having the shorter fork will outweigh the slightly lower BB.
