I noticed a cool fisher locked up near my house the other day. It is forest green with yellow decals. It has a rear rollercam, buck's head Deore shifters and bullmoose bars. Any idea what model this is?

Could be a Mt Tam. Is it fillet brazed? Theyre a nice bike; made by Tom Teesdale. Sky has one. Sky, lets see yours.

Could be a 1986 Montare, but could also be any of the earlier bikes that didn't have limited colors. When did dear head go away - 1986?

I went back to leave a note and have another look. Confirmed that it is a Montare. It has the model name on the headbadge, which I think is pretty cool. Sadly the owner never got back to me.

The owner of the Montare just responded to my offer to liberate the bike from him. I will pick it up in the next few days and will submit pics ASAP. Now I have a real old school resto project on my hands.

Montare indeed! it was my first *real* mtn bike. Man I stared at that thing in the shop window like it was a puppy. I hope the guy who stole it off my car rack is still enjoying it.

I got the bike, cleaned it up and noticed a dent on the down tube. This cooled my interest in fixing the thing up, especially as I have too many bikes and not enough space. I stripped the parts and have to get ride of the frame, fork and bullmoose bars. PM me if you want them. If you are outside of New York, you pay shipping, around $35.
