Do yourself a favor and get one. If you're buying a $1500 bike that doesn't come with one, save up an extra $500 and get the next model.
Had a Bulls Copperhead 3 hardtail, didn't come with a dropper so I'd keep my seat all the way down. It wasn't that inconvenient cause my frame was a little too big.
Never considered adding a dropper and was an afterthought when I ordered my new bike. Now that I've been riding with it though, I have no clue how I rode so long without it. I'm constantly adjusting it while I'm riding and it's become as necessary a component as my brakes or wheels. Just makes riding so much more enjoyable.
