well, if you guys are gonna be up there...

a friend and i will be riding around there too. keep an eye out for two guys on coves (hummer and handjob) w/ fox forx. i'll be wearing a full face (my avatar is a picture of me). not sure what time will be heading up, probably early though.

From Toronto:
- Take highway #400 north to highway #89 exit.
- Turn left towards Alliston, Ontario.
- Follow highway #89 through Alliston.
- The second set of traffic lights once outside of the town of Alliston will be Airport Road (county road 18).


From Guelph:
- Follow highway #24 through Erin to highway #10.
- Turn Left on highway #10 towards Orangeville.
- Stay on Highway #10 past Orangeville until it meets highway # 89 at Primrose.
- Turn right and follow highway # 89 through Violet Hill to the next set of traffic lights which is Airport Road.

We are going to meet on the south-east corner of the Hwy89 & Airport Road intersection (Bavarian Post restaurant parking lot), aprox 10:45 AM.

jaryr's directions from Toronto via Hwy 89 are okay, but going through Alliston is a pain. A faster way is to take 400 north to Hwy 9 and take Hwy 9 WEST to Airport Road (Regional Road 18) and head north on Airport Road until you hit Hwy 89. The Bavarian Outpost is on the south east corner of Airport Road and Hwy 89.

Another option (my prefered from Richmond Hill) is to take 400 north to Hwy 9 and take Hwy 9 West to Hwy 51 (Regional Road 51?) then head north on 51 until you hit Hwy 89 and WEST left on Hwy 89 to Airport Road. This route usually has the least amount of traffic.

For those unfamilar with the Mansfield Agreement Forest (Dufferin Forest), it is just north, up the hill, from the Mansfield Outdoor Centre on Airport Road. As you pass the Outdoor Centre (heading north) and once you reach the top of the big hill, the entrance is on the east side of the road (signed, it's not hard to miss). Once you reach the entrance don't go straight ahead into the lower parking area but head right (south), up the gravel road (parallel to Airport Road). We park by the gate at the top of the hill, the gate may or may not be open.

From Yonge and Hwy 7 it's about an hour to an hour and ten minutes to the Mansfield Forest parking lot. It's about 50 minutes to the Bavarian Outpost parking lot.

taking the number 9 route, which is infintely faster than going through alliston, it takes almost exactly an hour from bathurst and elgin mills. i patrol up at mansfield and make the drive every saturday/sunday december through to march.

We passed you and I was the guy who said, "hey! I know you" as we went by at just sub-light speed. Blame someone else for the reason we didn't stop and say, "hi."

yeah - i figured that might have been you guys...

how was your ride? we did 27 miles between mansfield and dufferin. nice day too, stayed nice and cool. i'll definetly stop next time though. i made two gps maps of the two rides we did and will try and post later on.
