Impressive if a bit large for bike use. I wonder if he is going to divulge the lens on the CPF Dive forum? If its just a plain glass lens it might be worth experimenting with.
"I wasn't exposing my self officer, I was just adjusting my focal length!" - LOL!
Interesting, but how wasteful is it, if it's putting say 90% of the light into that spot pretty much what ever size you want then I'm interested for helmet useage, although fixed and pre setup to suite not heavy magnets.
I was fiddling around with my dad's new LED D-cell flashlight - you just turn the head to change the spot/flood characteristics. I was thinking dammit, why don't bike lights have that!?!?
It's a nice idea but I would never need to change the beam pattern once I set it how I like it.
I especially would not want something that huge on my bike. Or something that could move and change as the bike goes through it's violent off road dance routine.
You can focus the beam of a P7 by shimming the distance the P7 lense protrudes into the reflector. (If you use a reflector that is)
