I've been toying with the idea of a cheapie fixed gear (with a brake) just for fun (minus the handle bar mustache and super tight jeans). Anyone have one and enjoy the ride? I do a lot of road riding and just looking to change it up. Any advice on gear ratio would be good. Riding around Los Angeles so there are some hills.

By default my track bike is a fixie. Once you get past the novelty it's really just a bike. If you get get one be sure it has a flip/flop hub and get a fixed and freewheel cog. The freewheel is a lot more fun if you have a lot of hills to go down as you can coast and not ride the brake all the time. If you are using the fixed to train it can help smooth out your pedaling and increase cadence.
