The E-type FD works so well with Prophet that you can't adjust it as on any other bike . You have to adjusted it with a shock in sag (by riding it I guess?) or with the frame in FR position. I guess that means do not shift while in air?


If the FD loosens up and pivots up just few mm, down shifting to the smallest ring just stops working. I did not want to tighten the screw so much that I could cause any damage to the frame so I J-B WELDed the two FD parts that may and did come loose on me couple times. Thanks Shimano for such ingenious design!

Why couldnt they just put a regular style clamp derailleur like they did on the rush?

I think it can be done and some may have experienced with it. E-type FD protects the frame from the chain so there is one advantage over classic FD.
