I ordered my first Yeti on Tuesday, an ASR-5, and cannot wait until it comes in! :D What have you guys done in the past to take the edge off waiting?

I literally can't wait!

That's great! What build kit/color did you order?
There's nothing you can do to help, the wait is terrible.
congrats on the bike! should be awesome when its all built up!
what i did to cope with the time is look up a lot of high end parts i really couldn't afforde or justify, than spend hours trying to justify it, just to later convince myself that i did need the parts and they would help me and i truly couldent live with out them, longest run on sentance ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now i have an amazing bike i cannot ride because of the wonderfull colorado weather!
Thanks guys!

I got the Enduro build, but upgraded to 2x10 with X9 crank and shifters, and increased the front rotor to 185mm from 160. Really wanted the lime, they had one built up at the bike shop and it looked awesome, but I guess they stopped making that one or it was back ordered. I chose the cayenne. The bike shop was able to snag one in Large for me from Yeti!

Haha the longest run on sentence, but I followed along just fine. Hopefully the weather hold up here in Texas!!!
Relax, take a deep breath. Have a couple of
beers and a shot of wiskey. The wait won't seem
so long.

Best, John
That cayenne is awesome looking. I just ordered a white ASR5 for my wife yesterday. My dealer told me not to even try to wait for the cayenne but my wife wanted white anyway so it didn't matter.

I also want to try the 2x10 so I am having it put on her bike...lol...

I got my ASR5C about 3 months ago and it is an awesome bike. All you can do is look at pictures and wait...

Looks like between you, me, my wife and Geremy- we just made a Yeti statement in Texas. We are all in DFW, where are you?
Thats me. Never posted here before, but I saw my name and thought I would chime in. :)

I just picked up my new ASR 5 on Tuesday night. Have not had it on the trails yet. Had a little rain the following morning.

I went with the enduro build and a 2x10 setup also. I got the black frame in the large.

As a follow up to the OP, I had to wait for over a week past the normal delivery time while mine was lost/failed to deliver by FedEx. That was the worst.

Cool...don't you owe me some pictures?

I can't remember why my forum name is different on this site...

I am headed to MD now.

We will ride once my lungs are healed up.
Yeah I do. I will see what I can snap tonight.
I believe I owe you the final weight of it also.

The Cayenne is awesome looking! Yeah I really wanted to try the 2x10 also, and the bike shop recommended it also.

I am also in DFW. I received that same rain that Geremy did yesterday.

Yes you do. I have a Alpine bike scale if you want to use it.

Cool, we are all in DFW.

I just saw the lime green one at MD, I thought about stealing it.

He said the wifes bike should be in around the 7 day mark. I think my black and her white will be a cool pair.

Did you get yours at Mad Duck? That is where I saw the lime one as well. Mine should be in by Tuesday and hopefully ready to ride next weekend!
I got mine at Mad Duck. The Lime on on display is already sold i think.
Waiting is expensive!

I am doing that right now and have been for the past two weeks, looking up the best parts and reading review and looking at high resolution pictures and wanting the best and needing the best and justifying prices and picking color schemes and convincing myself that I cant live with them and unfortunately for my wallet, buying it all! I have an ASR 7 frame on the way. I have received most of the parts and some duplicate items as I couldn't decide what $$$$$ blinged out part I NEEDED more. I should have the frame and everything by Tuesday. fingers crossed. The worst part is "needing" parts that are on backorder or aren't even released yet, I bought a few parts only to find out they wont be shipping till late April. The plus side is that I get to open a presents everyday from UPS, way better than Christmas.

@cllemke congrats on the new Yeti. I love that lime color too but the good news is that Yetis of all colors ride the same, amazing. While your waiting you could supply your self with new accessories like shoes, shorts, jersey, helmet, backpack, multi tools, repair stand, Torque wrench and a bike computer like I did. The bike will look good, the least I can do is look good for her.

@saxen - What Colorado weather is keeping you from riding? it isn't that bad, a little mud, snow and cold are worth it for a sweet ride. I hear ya, I cant wait for summer and for all the bike parks to open up again.

@g1701gst Good idea. I have been wanting a new pair of MTB shorts.

@GeremyHamlett I also got mine at Mad Duck. Great shop! The lime was already sold, and I believe just waiting to be picked up.

I got my ASR5C at Totally Spoked as they were going out of business for about 50% off!

I purchased my wife's at MD. Just paid for it today and will do the waiting game with you. We are going to surprise her when it comes in by loading up her Cannondale and my ASR5 and heading to Grapevine like we are going to ride. I will play like I need to stop by MD to grap something and they will have her ASR5 waiting to load up and hit the trail.

Should be cool if it all works out.
If you need any help pulling off the ruse just let me know. I would like to see this go down.

Drink beer. Order a lot of extras on the net once lubricated well enough :)

Thanks man, I will let you know.

What wheels and tires did you guys go with? I just went with the stock DT Swiss on hers and had him order some Conti tires to set up tubeless. I figure I can upgrade her wheels down the road if I need to dump some more weight.

I run Stan ZTRs on mine and have become a big fan of Speclialized 2-bliss tires. I seem to always be on a quest to find better, lighter and stronger tires and so far the Captain Controls are winning for our trails.
