First time to the Downieville Classic

Well Im making the trek from Florida to Downieville to ride the XC race. I have a friend who lives in SAC, but I still need to find the best place to camp and etc... to prepare for the week. Any and all suggestions are welcome and needed, this will be a trip of a lifetime for me.

Kidding! ;) I'd suggest staying in Nevada City. Plenty of camping and other accommodations, plus a lot of local trails to keep your legs fresh if you have some time before the event.
