Hey MTBR'ers,

I wanted to get a consensus on how everyone finds new local trails around your community.

For me, I have checked trail reviews, garmin's activities list, and have even looked up ATV trail sites... Nothing too great that starts in an immediate area. (5mi, etc)

What means does everyone else use to find trails, especially if you live in a rural or undeveloped area? Word of mouth? Adventure riding/exploring? What means have been most successful for you?

P.S. tell us the general area that you live in.

I look at maps, and get what is usually hand complied trail info from various ranger districts ( not the forest) Also, hiking guides are a great sources of trail ideas.

Washington, next to Idaho and BC.
