Well I started to get fed up with Surly.
Well OK they are supposedly good bikes, but find in Europe is a whole story or is an impossible mission. I think their business model is almost nonexistent in Europe. After having ordered a surly frame Ogre 24 "in early May on a Germany webshop, and after learning that it would be available later in August (as opposed to late May as advertised), I decided to cancel my order for ordering a complete 24" Surly Ogre on a webshop in England. I paid and 2 hours later, I just learned that the complete bike that was supposedly in stock, Surly UK can no longer find it.
It's crazy, what is this crappy management ?!*
Also I seem to get ripped off by the vendor I deal with... Wait and see tomorrow....
I'll get another bike builder who manages the European market better.

Don't get angry with Surly because a bike shop in England has bad inventory control.

i live in Australia and i pay through the nose for Surly here, i bought my frames from bikeman in the good ole USA, great prices, great service and great shipping.

no, of course not. but it sounds like you're blaming Surly for the bike shop's mistakes. I get the impression that it's harder to get Surly stuff in Europe than in the US. just about any bike shop can get their stuff around here, but few keep any in stock. it's a niche part of the market.

Surly doesn't sell directly to the UK. Ison Distribution import them, along with some other QBP lines. 24" is a rare size, and the hardest to get a hold of. Most brands wouldn't even bother making a 24" bicycle, so why not be patient?

Or you could just buy something else, get it tomorrow and be disappointed.

Isn't this the internet? Can't you send an email to some shop somewhere in the US of A and ask if they have an account with QBP, and if so would they would be willing to order a box, then slap a label on said box and reship it to Europe for a reasonable profit, and you'll cover shipping costs via the USPS?

At least if there's an issue with stock levels, you'll be dealing with a human who does this for a living at an LBS instead of one sitting at some computer in a warehouse in Topeka pressing send 3000 times a day...

Seems so simple to me.
