While I do think it is sometimes dumb not to wear a helmet when doing tricks, one would not have helped in this situation. Fullface...maybe.

Are you claiming a helmet would have helped in this situation, or are you making sort of a general observation? Personally I don't think a helmet would have reduced the impact to head/neck/face here.

Who cares if a helmet would have helped in this situation? No, helmets don't create an impenetrable force field around your entire body. But I'm pretty sure that you're less likely to get injured if you're wearing a helmet than if you're not...it's ridiculous to argue about if a helmet would have helped you in a particular situation. It's ALWAYS a good idea to wear a helmet while riding, no matter if you plan on landing on your feet, your ass, your balls, your chest, your head...
