Wow...it is not a good idea to try to do backflips for the first time over a spine. Try doing a backflip fly out first!

Nice crash though!

While I do think it is sometimes dumb not to wear a helmet when doing tricks, one would not have helped in this situation. Fullface...maybe.

Are you claiming a helmet would have helped in this situation, or are you making sort of a general observation? Personally I don't think a helmet would have reduced the impact to head/neck/face here.

Who cares if a helmet would have helped in this situation? No, helmets don't create an impenetrable force field around your entire body. But I'm pretty sure that you're less likely to get injured if you're wearing a helmet than if you're not...it's ridiculous to argue about if a helmet would have helped you in a particular situation. It's ALWAYS a good idea to wear a helmet while riding, no matter if you plan on landing on your feet, your ass, your balls, your chest, your head...

helmets are for homos. it feels so much better to slay your head off trees and/or unmovable objects while at the jumps, that way you know you messed up and learn from your mistake.
