finally got round to finishing of my version of a DIY easy style light.

Q5's ledil square lenses and cheap DX / kaidomain kennan driver off 9.6v battery.

mount is an old headlamp i butchered. would have prefered a cateye / marwi but couldnt stretch the budget anymore

first tests seem positive, i will test it out tonight to see how she goes under pressure.

Nice. Where did you get your ledil lenses from?
cutters electronics.

they had to be sanded down a little to make them fit inside the case.

light works very well, i gave it a run last night thru the city and when moving, cooling isnt an issue.
-M I THINK, they have a frosted finish to them.
Those are the CRS-D.

Cool light, that first pick looks like mini Wall-E :D
i picked up another 1455 case the other day that has the removable aluminium panels to use instead of drilling out the solid plastic end, and i saw the hammond case you use, it took a bit of will power not to buy that case and email you for a couple of ends. :p

overall, it came up well. i plan to update my original light to the 1455 style case.

I think the optics choices are better with the 1455 series case too, and you can even make a triple with some of the larger cases in that series (that seems to be the sweet spot using cheap DX Q5's IMHO).
