More I think about it, more doubts I have: filling Marzocchi fork with oil, stanchions in, springs out, what about cartridges? Pulled out or in?

actually its fully compressed, including the stanchions

When I talked to marzo when I was doing it, they told me to have the bottom spring in.
The spring order does matter, I put them in the wrong order, and it felt like crap.

spring order doesnt matter, they will compress the same no matter what order, its about equilibrium.

lower springs (if avail) or spacer left in may leave you undersprung; its all relative however, you just may have to add more oil later. Leaving them in is just easier if you cant access them.
