Does anyone have any experience with Felt's new aluminum nine series? I am specifically looking at the nine trail as a starting block for a progressive build.

I've had a Nine Race for almost 2 years now and love it. As far as I can tell, the frame is basically the same now as when I got mine. According to the geo chart, the CS is now 445 where mine is 440; all other numbers (including wheelbase?) are the same as is the material and manufacturing method; hydroformed 6061 Al.

I think it's a GREAT frame to start a progressive build with and the only thing I'd trade mine for is a Ti frame... with the exact same geometry!!

I've put a lot of trouble free miles on mine, including some long distance rides that were very comfortable on this bike. It handles great and I can't imagine anywhere I've ever ridden that I wouldn't be able to take this bike.

But, of course, test ride one. If it's not comfortable to you, then it's not a good frame no matter how good it is for me! If it fits you, however... buy it and enjoy!!

But of course a test ride is in order.

I was asking more along the lines of how it rides, durability and such. Thanks for the info
