Factory sticker removal??

952 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  TrekFan
I have a new 06 rush and would like to remove the ungodly "handmade in the usa" sticker on the rear of the frame. It appears to have a complete clearcoat over the stickers and on the whole frame. Any advise??? I've seen some posted here sans stickers.

Thanks

?

Why does it bother you so much you picky ba$tard:p? You would have to remove the clearcoat and the sticker then re clearcoat it for corrosion protection, but even if you did it right you would probably void the warranty. Why spend the extra $$$ for a U.S. made bike if the flag on it bugs you that much? You could have bought some cheap Tiawanese single pivot if the superior warranty isn't important. If you hate the flag that much why not put a sticker you like better over it? It would save you a bunch of money and not void you're warranty.
Warranty.

Use a sticker to cover it if it bothers you. If you mess with the clearcoat, you will void the warranty.
The Prophets that don't have the decals were not taken off by users, they simply weren't on the bike from the get go. In 05, all Prophets with embossed decals didn't have 'handmade in USA' and the ugly 'prophet head' on the top tube. I'm happy to have one of those but I wouldn't try to take them off if they were there.

Where in my post do you see "FLAG"? The flag on the top tube is why i bought the cannondale over a giant or other tiawanese crap. Get your facts straight before you rant. I aint no friggin nor cal lib who wants god out of the pledge or off of our money! Thank you dan gerous, that was the answer i was looking for. I was wondering why there were so many prophets w/o stickers. i of course want to keep the cannondale and flag but think the "handmade" stickers are a little much. No prob.
thanks guys!
First post I see where someone doesn't want a 'Made in the USA' leyend... no problems anyway, just an observation.
Made in USA doesn't mean much for people outside the US...
It will wear off eventually...

Or get covered with mud.
its on the chainstay right? just buy a lizardskins chainstay protector. that will cover it up nicely, and you need one anyway. i agree though, its nice to have pride in the usa and rah rah with the flag and all that crap, but good god that cannondale sticker is HUGE
