Are there any manufactures of new mountain bikes that make a 1X10 or 1X9 setup? I'm really enjoying my 1X7 (don't laugh) setup and when I get a new bike I'd like to have that same configuration but of course with more gears.

why not buy whatever bike you like best and just convert it to a 1x10? If you buy something with a 3x10 the conversion wont cost you anything

I remember someone mentioning a pro who still uses x7 back.

Specialized has been selling a race-oriented hard tail Stumpjumper as a 1x10 for several years now. A lot of people love to hate Specialized but 3-4 years ago I thought the aluminum Stumpjumper Evo to be a pretty good deal for a light bike with a lot of premium components at $1,800. Now it lists for $2,300 and is less of a good deal.

You are not likely to find a lot of bargain bikes that are 1x10.
