All of my parts have finally arrived for my Misfit diSSent build - hooray! I've been reading about facing and chasing frames prior to installing the bb and headset. For those of you who have built up your diSSents - did you find this process necessary?

It's the raw frame in case that matters...

Yes, I did and now a year and half later I ride it trouble and creak free. The bottom bracket face was off a little and with an external bottom bracket it could have creaked and died a premature death.

At least have it check out , it may or may not need it .

It was a must do with my Dissent Fe. Head tube appeared to be reamed as it was missing paint and the BB looked chased, but was not. Glad I have a friend that has a shop and was willing to do it right away.

No reason not to. Facing head tubes and bottom bracket shells is the only way to ensure they are parallel.
