I've never used Sapim spokes but have heard good things about them, mostly on this forum, so I ordered some CX-Rays for a new wheel.

I got the spokes and the quality on the thread end is horrible. It looks like some were cut w/diagonal cutters, the threads smashed in on some of the spokes. It looks like something you would see on a kids department store bike.

Having never used them I'm wondering if someone who has more experience w/them has had a similar experience or if I got a bad batch. It's not what I expected w/a spoke of this price. I'm wondering if they export one length and have the importer then cut/thread based on demand.

Sounds like you got some bad ones. All of the ones I recieved had threads that were superior to the DT Swiss spokes I have used in the past.
