Was wondering if it's okay to use the ergon gpx grips on the xxx riser bar. I was reading on Ergon's website that some carbon handlebars can't deal with the force needed by the grips.

They suggested that I would need to use their bar end plugs in conjunction with their grips?

Anyone tried this set up before?

Thanks for any advice

In the manual is where they suggested using their bar end plugs.

I will not be putting bar ends on these handlebars but I don't want to damage the handlebars because of the grip either.

It will depend on the torque spec of the Bont. XXX bar. If the torques spec of the bar is higher than that of the GX1, you will not need the plug.

Personally, I am all for the LS100 plug.....especially when dealing with thin carbon bars like the Bont. XXX, FSA, or Race Face.

I can tell you, I have sponsored riders on this bar....that are NOT using the LS100 plug. But, that was their choice in order to save a few grams.
