I have a 03 epic with Fox fx100 with a Panaracer 29x1.95 on front and a WTB Mutanoworm 29x1.85 on the rear. Iam about to get a new frame Epic Marthon frame new shock. I was wondering if any have tried a talas with there epics I know it would make down hills even more of a blast. Using the fork i know it can be lowerd from 140mm to 100mm for climbing.:thumbsup: Please any tips would help?

You may want to check the March 2007 issue of Mountain Bike Action. They have an article on making a cross country race bike more of a trail bike . They use a '04 Epic as the example. One of the things they switched out was the Fox F80 fork, to a Fox Talas X, but state that you will likely void the warranty by doing this, if the frame breaks from the use of a long travel fork. But it looks like it would work.
