The problem is that craptastic OEM seatpost clamp, which is too thin and bends easily if you tighten it enough to keep the seatpost from slipping. I replaced mine after the first ride.

Yes, the quick release version is the problem. No matter how much I tightened it, seatpost would still slip a bit.

I replaced it with this:


Problem solved.

Same here.

Edit: By the way, I looked at the old QR clamp and I am pretty sure you could retrofit a bolt to that one as well.

Torque recommendation is completely irrelevant as you can see the clamp actually bending when you tighten the pinch bolt enough to keep the seatpost from slipping. I got this one instead. The material between the pinch bolt is far more substantial than either Spec clamp.
