So I have a 2011 enduro comp with 2005 mavic crossmax xl wheels. Currently a 9 speed cassette. I want the new type two rear derailleur and can only find 10 speed.

Is it a non issue to convert to 10 speed on that bike? I'm replacing my whole power train here soon.

Thanks.

Jeff

- Hi Innovator8......
I've got a 2010 Enduro Expert with 2010 dt swiss 1750 and I switch it to 10 speed without any problem.
Mine is 10x135mm rear axle and also mount a X0 type2 medium cage.........

Great thank you, one last question, I currently have a shimano slx cranks with 24/36 rings. When I switch to 10 speed, I should just be able to replace my worn our 9 speed rings for new 10 speed rings right? I guess they are a little thinner.

I've got SLX cranks too with 24-36 9speed rings and I haven't got any issues with 10sp chain......
The only thing necessary is front derailleur......10 sp XT double ring type-E......

I was thinking I would take a pair of pliers to it and make it have a thinner opening
