I took my shock off and now when I put it back on it had 1mm of play at the link (between the bolt and the shock eye), so I tightened it up so the play is gone, but I would think you would want it to be just snug so the links can move more freely? I noticed with the Shock Link at Frame Pivot (#8) when it was really tight it wouldn't move as easily. How tight should the Shock Link at Seatstay Pivot (#7) be?

Thanks, this is exactly what I was looking for, and it makes sense :) The link is seated in the eye when you tighten this way, so even though there is play in there when loose, when its tightened it won't move since its already contacting the eye.
