I have just asked my local dealer to see if they can build an EMD with American Classic wheels, Rock shox reba fork, Elixer brakes, and mostly XT components for $2500 or less. Looking at the costs this seems possible. Does anyone have experience with this? Any suggestions?

Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jon

EMD build

Hard to say what different shops can do. You also have to remember the small stuff such as: tires, tubes, grips, bars, stem, pedals, etc... These all add up quick!

Check out Speedgoat Bicycles at www.speedgoat.com. Thay have a pretty cool bike build set up. You can pick all the parts you want and they have quite a few! Here's the link to the bike builder page - http://www.speedgoat.com/lab.asp

I did a build, on the site similar to what you're looking for, it came out to just over 2800. Lots of ways to drop cost though. I had Flows built to Hope Pro 2's for under 500. Just food for thought.

Try and get a few quotes from different shops. I know Bike Bling has Niners and they will do build quotes. Weigh your options and then dive in. Good luck!

Ooopsss. Just saw this on Speedgoat as well. Complete Limited Edition X-9 Signature build for $1979.99
