I recently purchased a 2014 El Mariachi frameset and have started to compile components for the build. I noticed on the Salsa site that most of their builds have setback seatposts. Any reason for this? The Effective TT length measures about the same as my typical bike. I'd like to purchase a straight syntace P6 hiflex seatpost since I've had good success with these in the past and wanted to make sure there's not something I'm missing regarding Salsa sizing.

If your unsure, wait till the bike is built up and buy a really cheap alloy straight post.
Ride it a couple of times, then decide before you pay the big $$.

Just a thought...

It's a shame the P6 does not come with an offset version. I'm have a taller torso, and have maybe 1/4" of stand-over height with my Vaya, and I still need all the offset I can get on the seatpost. The FSA K-force has an offset and is a decent alternative IMO.

I used the P6 on all my Salsa cycles. Works great!
