Need your help here. Does anyone know if the spring of an (old) Stratos's El Jefe would fit on an Elka. Weight and stroke are perfect but I'm wandering if the internal diameter would be a problem. I would be very grateful if anyone could provide me with both internal and external diameter of an El Jefe's spring.

Thanks for your help!

Elka's Stage 5 shock will accept any spring with a minimum internal diameter of 35mm and a maximum outside diameter of 55mm, granted it has the right stroke and that the length is correct for it to fit the shock.

Be careful though, most companies mark their springs with the real stroke (ex: Fox requires a 3.25" stroke spring for a 3' stroke shock) but not Elka. We mark the springs and shocks with the nominal travel/stroke to make it easier.

Email me at: [email protected] if you need more information or to validate the fitment.

Thanks for choosing an Elka shock for your bike !

I will Pat! I found a deal on that used TI spring and I'm trying to figure out if it will work or not. If it don't I will come straight to your office as I am in Montreal. We've actually met in person when you built the shock for me. The spring I got then is 50lbs too light.

Send me an email at the address above with the spring's extended length & stroke plus the following info:

- Bike model and year
- Your weight
- Type of riding

I will be able to confirm if what sounds like a good deal is in fact a good deal or not.
