Not Bad IMHO

I've had mine for about 7 months now. Slammed them on rocks on several occassions, haven't had any problems with them so far. I think they are pretty good.... even if they break I am going to replace them with another pair. BTW they are super easy to service!

I broke a couple of the bars on one of my egg beaters at my last race, smacking it off a rock on a decent, luckily with the 4 sided entry, I had one side left to clip into. That being said, they have held up to a lot of abuse in the past, and would definitely buy again. I agree with one of the previous posts that the Times, may be a bit more durable though...

I've loved the three sets I've had. They seem pretty durable to me and as amor587 said, easily serviced.

Time ATACs are similar and are durable. The have more of a platform, but only have 2 entry sides and can't match the eggbeaters on weight.

Ive been racing eggbeaters for a few years...they are bombproof.....i slammed the crap out of my right pedal into a rock on a fast decent yesterday...worse than i have ever done before...i figured my cleat was either smashed back out of alignment in my shoe or i dented or broke the pedal...neither occured...so i am all smiles over the eggbeater right now

I really like the eggbeaters. I have bad knees and had my ACL replaced last year and really like the eggbeaters. I moved from shimanos and never looked back.

That being said, I did bend my right one in a simple U turn wash out last weekend on the trail. All I did was wash out in the turn and slid on the right side, more on my leg than anthing. Didnt make a scratch on the bike, gave me some dirt road rash from a root, but bent the eggbeater.

ill buy a new set though, I really like them. Personally I dont like Time. I would go with speedplays if I went with any other pedal.

My two cents.

Definitely, good and simple.

I just used them in a big muddy race yesterday. They were great, I never missed a clip in unlike most of the riders near me. This is the first time I have really had the opportunity to experience and benefit from superior mud shedding. A lot of other pedals seem to gunk up when the going gets tough.

On top of that they are light and look good next to my stove top espresso maker.

Send customer service an email and explain situation. Their customer service is second to none. I had a pair replaced recently (sheared spindle) and they went out of their way to make sure I was happy. I had no reciept of purchase and had owned the pedals for over 1 year when it happened.
As far as performance goes, I love them. Granted, I did shear the spindle, but I am 220lbs, ride a rigid SS and love to climb hills. That combination is not a good one for any pedal.
