Since three days I'm trying to access the "Eclipse 56g...."-Thread with no success, the page is blank, I tried it on several PCs, So I made a new thread.

The Tube has been tested in a german bike magazine., with actually pretty impressive results other than rolling resistance.
Even though some say they don;t agree and it might be a typo.

Anyway...if you care.

I have had 3 of these tubes & all of them failed within 5 rides even with latex inside. The ride quality was very good but they were just too flimsy for my use. They deffinately were not worth the huge purchase cost.
I have reverted to my tubeless set up & I can't see that changing anytime soon. :incazzato:

They're 45 Euro each, which puts the weight saving in the $1/gm range. I have them on two bikes now and they've been good, no issues after the initial warranty replacement of two out of the first production run.

You can get them from Robert at r2 Here Currently I am using them on both my bikes. I've had a few punctures but easily fixed with there own patches.

even @ 39.92 euro or $54.00 each - i'm still not sold on the eclipse tubes for anything other than photos on scales

here's another option: $10 tube purchased at Starbike (SV 14A are $17.45 on schwalbe usa website)


Schwalbe SV14A XXlite 26x1.5-2.1 innertube + dust cap + valve collar + talc (scales calibrated with box inplace)

...with $2 LBS patch kit


6 patches + glue + sandpaper

have used those Schwalbe 14A's to prep 4x X-King 26x2.4's for tubeless & they worked fine - but not all of the tubes have been 95g - 6 have averaged approx 102g

...edit...

also used the same 95g(ish) Schwalbe 14A XX 26x1.5-2.1 tubes on a ZTR Race 29er wheelset + FF 29x2.0 - t'was abit of a stretch & probably highly not reccomended to do again! - but the tubes stretched & fitted alright :thumbsup:

What the hell are tubes? There is no legitimate reason not to go tubeless.

Sorry I'm abit lost, those tubes are for 2.1 tires but you managed to put them on 2.4 tire. Also when you say prep for tubeless, do you mean that you put something like No stans inside the tube

i inflated the innertube & it expanded from 26x2.1 - 0.3" - to fit the interior dimensions of the 26x2.4 tire :thumbsup:

...exact same tube also expanded from 26x2.1 to fit a 29x2.0 tire - just add air & hope for the best
