Hey,
Alright so I have made my mind up that i am willing to spend about 1/3 to 1/2 more for the eclipse kit over Stans. BUT!
At the moment I have Mavic OEM 117 rims, not sure the width.
Does anybody know, that if I were to get the Eclipse(or even DT??) kit and put it on my wheels, that i would be able to reuse it on some DT D4.1 rims in the future?
So what I'm asking,
1. Is the kit reusable(not including sealent)
and, 2. Is the kit the same sizing for most rims, mostyl wanting to know about Mavic 117 and DT D4.1's.
Thanks.

get the "universal"Eclipse kit...

the Mavic 117 is an old rim that isn't produced anymore.i can't tell for sure if the "Mavic" kit M126U fits that rim so you best option is to get the "universal" Eclipse kit (A126U) which fits all XC-rims anyway.

It's a new rim actually. Alright, I'll admit, it is quite a low end rim and doesn't even have eyelets, but some say it replaced the Mavic 139(?). It only just came out on OEM bikes for 2004 and looks like it is even popular for 2005.
So the universal eh?

do it yourself

I am new on the forum, and I suspect that the tubeless slefmade is allready old news.

But I make is for $5 (wheelset)

Its possible to buy 2mm double glued tape. Put it on the rim. (maybe 2 times) then a broad schwalbe rimlint. Tire on the rim, put artist latex in it (half water, half latex)

and ready.

15 minutes, 100 gram each wheel and cheap

I was using the universal kit on my wheelset (Velocity VXC Disk rims) without a single problem. Very easy to install and even easier to mount tyres.

I am back to tubes at the moment (As I am switching and swapping tyres a bit over winter)

Alright in the near future I will get it... At the moment I gotta pay my dad back for the trip to the US and then I have got to buy some new cranks/BB and pedals. Was thinking Raceface Deus silver!
