I would assume the point of the race is to have fun and be part of the community. On strava you can do that for free![]()
Walt - the California Enduro Series races still include pedal transfers, even at the bike parks.... 20-30 mile day on the bike, and have some long 12+ minute stages. I think it's a good day of racing on ebike or regular bike.Hell, a lot of the enduros around here have given up on even having the transfers ridden at all and people just ride the lift. It's just a multi-stage DH race at this point.

You can say "Why race? I can do it on Strava for free."
Why race at Sea Otter, or the Downieville Classic, or an EWS? I can ride at these places on my own for free.
Why travel to Sea Otter,or Downieville, or Whistler, or New Zealand or anywhere? I can ride at home for free.
And if you go to the extreme....
Why ride? I can watch videos online for free - don't even need a bike.
Why do anything?
The answer -- It's for the experience and fun of doing it.
