Any thoughts on riding fixed gear offroad with an EBB? Would the Phil EBB shell offer any advantage over any other? Is chain tension easier/harder/no different to set up than with horizontal dropouts? Any info/experience appreciated.

It'll work great!. No worries about axle slippage, you can run a QR with confidence!.

All EBB's work equally well, just pick one that makes you happy and fits your bike. The phil offers the advantage of being a dead sexy part that nobody will know about except you (and anyone you tell about it).

Personally I think eBBs are far easier to adjust chain tension than horizontal wheel mounts, but there are people on this board that will disagree. Definitely works fine for fixies.

I think IF uses the Phil ebb. If so, riding it fixed will work just fine. I never once have had it slip on rocky rooty singletrack or when doing drops.
