So I saw this video and thought Id try it out since I have the back pedal issue with the e13 cassette:

(note i have sram gx derailleur/shifter as well)

I matched chain lengths and everything is fine pedaling/shifting, but backpedaling in every gear drops the chain off the cassette now.

Is this just incompatible?

Thanks

Have you checked your b limit and derailleur hanger?
I have had an e.13 cassette on my bike for 6 months now with an xx1 eagle chain and haven't experienced that yet.
My current setup is an x01 11sp derailleur modded for 12sp with an x01 shifter also modded for 12sp. Works flawlessly.

A bicycle drivetrain is not designed to be pedalled backwards. There is nothing that guides the chain to keep it on the gear like there is when pedaling forward.
