Yes Thomson X4 is the mountain version. For a bigger man I would definitely recommend the X4, although many do run the X2 on weight weenie race bikes.nicolicious said:X2 vs the X4????

Easton, Race Face, Truvativ, Ritchey, FSA, and others only make forged stems. Even a $20 forged stem will be a set and forget item, it will probably just weigh more than a $60 forged stemnicolicious said:im listening ---- i know the forged is a good thing in golf clubs but do tell.... which manuf are you speaking of?
You still having trouble getting that knee outta your vagina?Q - Can I use X2 on a Mountain Bike?
A - We don't recommend X2 for Downhill or Freeride but X2 is more than strong enough for Cross Country Mountain Biking.
