"XR4.1" rims laced to "240" hubs...... any good, suggested by LBS mechanic. I thought they were kind of expensive for any thing but "Mavic's".........but from what I unedrstand a lot better to service and easier to find parts.

What about Bontrager Race-lites????
on what hubs??

happpy racing and riding!

DT Swiss 4.1d rims are great. Better quality than the equivalent Mavics (717), a bit heavier though. There's also a tubeless kit for them. Don't have the hubs but hear good things.

The prices from DT Swiss for complete wheel builds seem high though. I'm sure you'll find better deals with some of the great wheel builders you'll see mentioned in posts here.

I just received my new set of wheelset, complete DT Swiss (with tubeless kit) build by wheelbuilder (www.ligerowheels.com).

Their light, looks great and stiffer than other wheelset I have ever come accross. DT Swiss was the result after doing months of research about what combination of parts for my wheels (if you can afford it).

Wasn't sure about trusting someone far-away to build the wheel but I bite the bullet as they say and they are absolutely brilliant!

Go for 240s hubs, 4.1 rims (disc or V-brake), pro-lock alloy nipples and spokes (either DT comp or supercomp or aerolite). Check DTSwiss for specs parts.
