I just received my custom rear wheel and it has the disc version rim not the regular 4.1 as requested. So--I'm hoping to avoid going through the hassle of returning the wheel if I can still use it with my V-brakes. No, my frame doesn't have a rear disc brake mount. :(
Will using this disc specific rim with V-brakes cause premature wear or create abnormal stresses to the rim?
In the review section, I noticed a few people with this rim said it can be used both ways.
True?

Thanks

The only difference is the sidewall on the disc version is not machined after anodizing.

The braking in the wet will not be as good until the ano wears off. No other issues.

Excellent!

I was debating on purchasing a different frame (Ibex Trophy Pro from my '98 GT Avalanche LE) instead of returning the wheel if it didn't work. Maybe next year

Thanks :)
