DT 370 hub with a ratchet LN conversion vs DT 350 hub?

My bike came with a DT M1900 wheelset and an HG freehub body. I would like to switch to Microspline or XD (most likely Microspline). I thought if i'm switching out the freehub body, why not convert the hub to the ratchet system. But it's not that cheap, and at that point a 350 hub is not that much more.

Ratchet LN upgrade kit (steel): €90
3 pawl removal tool: €25

DT 350 Microspline straight pull hub: €176
Cost of a wheel build: around €35 (i'm guessing I don't need new spokes?)

Unfortunately I don't have a truing stand, dishing gauge, and while I could build I wheel I just don't want to do it without the proper tools.

So the price difference between the two options is around €96 or around a 108 bucks. Other than the ratchet system, is there a difference between the 350 and 370 hub? Is the 350 worth the extra ~100 bucks?

Note that the DT350 option would let you sell the DT370 to recoup some costs too. (I'd check spoke calculator or hub flange dimensions first to make 100% sure you're not going to need new spokes).

So it's more work, but actually the DT350 option seems best.

Where is the DT350 micro spline hub 176 euro? That's really cheap, and I need another one before the summer.

Hmm, didn't think about that, I figured no one really wants a used 370 HG rear hub, but maybe someone? 😁

I just quickly checked bike24 and seen it there:

(The US price will be different and i'm not sure how shipping, import taxes etc. work)

BTW do we know whether the 350 microspline hub comes with an alu or steel freehub body? With the ratchet LN kit both are an option. Not sure if gouging is still an issue on microspline but i'd rather play it safe and go steel.
Maybe I read too quickly, but you can order the 350 with your choice of freehub, but you’d have to pay for a new one for the 370, which narrows the cost even more.

EDIT: I’m guessing the upgrade kit might include a freehub? If that’s the case, I don’t think I’d mess with a whole and functioning wheel.

Yes, the ratchet LN upgrade kit includes the freehub as well.

Basically the question is 370 with a ratchet upgrade or a 350 for a 100 bucks more. Or a bit less if I can sell the 370 hub.

on eBay US, someone is trying to sell a used 370 for something like $150. It's not sold, but would likely sell in a hurry at $100.

I don't know which free hub material they have, but wasn't sure the micro spline came in steel.

I'll have to order a Bike24 hub. My front came from there, but I hadn't looked at them since.

Bike24 can't ship DT Swiss to US anymore, so looks like the more like $250-280 here is the price for me.

For you though, seems like the 350 makes sense

$100? Hmm, that would be nice.
