I feel like building up a new set as the local guy I want to use isn't a DT Swiss dealer yet, so i'm off on a quest to find a deal on a set of these hubs.

The two MTBR dealers a lot of the Turner guys use are Larry (www.mtnhighcyclery.com) and Chad (redbarnbicycles.com). Their prices of parts and wheels are excellent. Email or call one of them.

best i've found is $149 for the front, $279 for the rear. I think I'm going to put the order in with this tomorrow evening

Try Orioncycles. That is where I bought my Dtswiss 240s with Stans Arch wheels. Great price and product.
