I am looking to get into my first fat bike and plan on doing so on a budget. I am leaning towards the newer Mongoose Dolmolite ALX as it is all alloy and has a cassette in the back. Weight wise it is on par with other lower end offerings like Framed and Gravity.

My question is with upgrading the drivetrain. It comes with a 2x8 microshift set up. I have a 1x10 Deore set up I took off last years new bike purchase. Can I use my 10 speed cassette/rear derailleur/ shifter/ chain with the 2x crankset? My concern is the chainrings ability to hold the ten speed chain.

My other option is to convert to a 1x, but as with other posts on here I am having difficulty finding a 120 BB/190 spindle crankset set up. I have a Truvativ Stylo crankset I would use if I could get a spindle for it and just skip the BB sleeve.

Any thoughts or advise would be appreciated!
