Is it ok to drill a hole in the little frame plugs that are used for bike frames to make sure that no grime or water gets in the frame? My bike frame has internal cable routing and so it came with a plain bike frame plug with no cut out for a cable. Is it ok if I drill a hole for the cable? If you don't know what bike frame plugs I'm talking about, it's this.

Assuming this for a dropper. Yes. I did the same thing. Drilling the hole on an angle might help with easier routing and possibly smoother cable action.

I heated up a screwdriver tip and melted it through. Worked like a charm. Also works with a sharp screw.

Is it rubber, or plastic? Plastic can be drilled, rubber should be punched. You can slot the rubber one afterwards with a razor, which allows you to neatly snap it in place over the housing.
