I saw somewhere that there is/will be construction of a new downhill specific trail in grand junction. Is this true? Is it open yet?

This DH trail you speak of is in the Lunch Loops area and it has not been approved or built yet. I think it has been in process for years you can find more info on it in the western slope forum.

There are, however, some DH trails in the area. But you will need assistance from a local to find them.
