Hey, i am starting to downhill ride, and i was wondering if there is any kind of orginzied racing circut or somthing like it anywhere in az or near it? and is there a super amature class so i don't have to start out in suicide mode to still be competitive (not saying i can't work my way up) Any info would be awesome. Thanks.

What i am saying is that there is no organized Dh racing in AZ.

There is organized DH racing in california and colorado. I've done it in california, but as far as the name of the series and stuff, I don't remember.

A lot of the guys I know who downhill race go to Bootleg Canyon in Nevada, Telluride Colorado or Big Bear California. The only place that runs lift assisted shuttles is at Sunrise in AZ. Try contacting a local bike shop, Ryan at Kore Bikes could be someone good to talk to if you want some info on downhill.

p.s. I hate to be a spelling Nazi but for god's sake use your spell check!

It's possible to be a DH racer in AZ, but you have to be willing to drive. Your best bet is Big Bear, about a 5 hour drive from Phoenix. There is a 4 race series every summer called the Big Bear Amateur Cup series, and many other races there including a Norba national. Check out this link http://www.teambigbear.com/

i also have been trying to find some DH racing in Az only thing ive found is from some punk kids telling me that you can ride white tanks which i found out was a bunch of bull ****.
uhh - not b.s. actually. you can ride white tanks, it's got what I think is one of the longest, hardest downhills in phoenix. Problem is this comes at the end of 15-17 miles of gruelling riding, including a 1/2 mile of hike-a-bike. So bringing a dh rig is pretty much outta the question.
