I am looking for a good beginner downhill mountain bike that is in the price range of 2000 to 3000 .
any ideas

USED is your friend when you're just starting off. If you want DH race, look at a used glory, stab, or demo. If you're looking for freeride, Bighit or stinky. They can all be had for less than $2000 and will give you an idea if you like DH or not, plus you don't have to worry about scratching a brand new bike. :thumbsup:

ok so used is good. i think most time i will doing DH with a little jumping. Is the giant glory a good bike used

Give Transition a call and see if they have anymore demo blindsides. They had a few on their site for $2000. The bike has great geometry for downhill and makes for a great park/jump bike. Plus, they are an all around great company with excellent support. I picked one up a few months ago and love it. Very versatile and strong bike for the money. Just my $.02.
