715 Views 5 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Gotta Know
recently picked up a dos niner and hands are always going numb when riding and begin to hurt a bit.

Anybody else have any issues like this?

Thanks

Good seeing you this weekend! You didn't change bars or grips, right? It would have to be a positioning issue, I would think. Is the old steed still around to compare saddle/bar drop etc?
Been riding one for 2 years now and nope, no hand pain. I use Oury Mtn grips on an On-One Mary bar. I would check your position and maybe change to an ergo bar. The Mary is relatively cheap to give it a try. It takes a little getting used to at first, especially on descents, but once you get the hang of it, you'll find it very comfortable and stable.

In the picture, hopefully you can see my hand position well enough.

You probably have a fit/position issue. If you went from a 26 inch wheeled bike to the Dos Niner, go back and look closely at your seat and handlebar position (old bike to new bike). A lot of people don't dial it in correctly. Especially with 29ers I tend to see people with bars too high or too long a reach.

Another thing that can help is a set of properly installed Ergon grips. ;)
no issues while on my dos niner, but I do rock ergon grips
