I just remembered these sightings, so I have decided to post them. Anyway, on 1 occasion, I saw 2 deer cross the dirt track near the junction that leads to Taylor Creek Park, on the other side of the train tracks. When I looked at them while going through the dirt track, they just stood there staring at me.
The other occasion I saw a small snake (most likely a baby) slithering across the dirt track itself near the bottom of the roadway leading to the sewage treatment plant. Not knowing whether the snake is venomous or not, it kind of freaked me out. Good thing it got out of the way in time and didn't strike me.
So even though this MTB trail is located inside a major city, there are still wild animals there, so be careful.
