Does the frame I'm looking for Exist?

I have been riding a Kona Honzo CR Trail DL (the carbon one) for the last couple years, I converted it to SS via Magic gear 34x19 about 2 years ago and I have been loving it ever since. Lately, I've been taking it on longer more adventurish rides which has highlighted the few little gripes I have with the frame. I'd love to have a 2nd set of bottle mounts inside the frame and a set on the top tube for a Bento style bag. I love the Geo of the Honzo and would really like to find something as close as possible, I also love the lightweight of Carbon, my complete is a little under 22lbs with a suspension fork and a Dropper. So my question is, does anyone make a Carbon frame (that has actual SS dropouts) with similar geometry to the Honzo but has mounts for 2 bottles inside the frame? The top tube mounts would be the cherry on top!

The strap-on style top-tube bags are more stable than the bolt-on style.

Just saying. I brazed mounts onto the top-tube of my steel frame and haven't been impressed by my decision.
I have 3 seasons on a Honzo Cr. During which i have tried to make it my second bike, adding a XC dually and a different HT with 2 bottle mounts. I have sold them both and bought another Honzo CR.
My HT had very similar geo but it just didn't feel the same. I have considered going with a titanium frame, I think Litespeed will do some semi-custom work, get what you want with the same geo.

Good to know about the top tube mounts.

I have a top shelf Transition spur and a Specialized Enduro and I still ride the Honzo 3-1 versus those other 2 bikes. I have been considering a custom built frame, possibly the Sendero Ti from Chumba. If I went that route I would probably sell the Honzo and my Spur to justify spending that kind of money on a frame.

I also considered reaching out to a company like Calfee Designs to see if I could mail them the Honzo frame and have them add a 2nd set of bottle mounts.

Here is an article on various options for adding cage mounts.
You can add your own mounts with Rivnuts, just don’t overtiggten or use loctitte on the mounting bolts.

My buddy just bought a Spot, he really liked it.
I forgot about this bike. I just read a few reviews and watched some videos, it definitely checks a lot of boxes, bonus points for it having a threaded BB. The only Geo differences with the Honzo that jump out are the 13mm shorter ETT, but that can be mitigated by going from a 50mm stem on the Honzo to a 60mm on the Spot. The other thing that jumps out, that, unfortunately, can't be remedied is the longer chainstays. In the shortest setting, the Rocker's chainstays are 23mm longer than the Honzo, and once the chain is tensioned it will likely be even longer. That's not a deal-breaker but I have come to really love the Honzo's short chainstays on my local trails.

I am interested if the Rocker possibly has a more "supple" ride than the Honzo. I recently did a 6-hour race on the Honzo, I ended up doing 54 miles and towards the end of the race I definitely felt a little "beat up" by the bike. Although I may have felt the same regardless of what frame I was riding.

Nah, it’s because you’re riding a hardtail:rolleyes:

If you are ok with the gearing, keep the Honzo and put some higher volume tires on it...

Of course, there's no denying that. After the race I was curious if I would have been less beat up on a different frame or different frame material. It might be negligible.

The gearing has been fine, it's probably 1 tooth higher on the cog than what most Singlespeeders run on my local trails but that just means I have to ride faster and thus get more KOMs. I've been running Maxxis Rekons in 2.4, I don't think the frame will allow much larger than that.
