Im not too fond of hydraulic brakes! BUT I like Hope's Durable Sturdy Construction and LOOK!

Their very first brake was mechanical (mid '90s), but even if you could find one, especially with the correct fork fitting, it would make more sense to get a modern mech. brake like the BB7. The original brake was little more than an experiment; all of their 'proper' brakes are hydraulic.

What exactly do you have against hydraulic systems?

the hope mechanical disc was made for the pace forks and was fit on the right leg, forward facing side,unlike todays where they are left rear facing they also had there own disc fitment,
