Yep! I just buy helicopter tape off amazon then cut two rectangle sheets for the side of the fork. Works fantastic and is a cheaper than any bike brand protection. Plus you will have extra for anywhere else you want to protect.

Care to give a link to which one you use? Thanks

When you remove the tape, will it peel off easily and not damage the sticker on the fork?
I used Invisiframe
Nope.
not for me either, to me it's a mountain bike it will get chips, scratches and dings at some point.
I only use it where the brake hose touches the fork.
I use the AMS, never had to peel it off. Saved my frames and forks from paint damage several times
I've honestly never even heard of this. I mean, they are fork lowers....they are gonna get scuffed and scratched and that's okay. It's like putting protective tape on the underside of a Jeep you're going to wheel.

None of my frames or forks have a scratch where I've put some 3M tape. I like that.

Yup most wheelers don't have skid plates on the bottom for protection.

I can tell you I've never put protective tape over my 3/16" powder coated skids. I let them...be skids. You know, just like a fork should be left to be a fork. Hey, to each their own, but the Barney meter pegs the needle when you start putting protective tape on fork lowers. Just sayin'.

You're saying that a fork is analogous to a skid plate. Hmmm...

Now, I'd never put protective tape on my bash guard but on the finished surfaces, sure.
I typically put protective tape on bikes purely to preserve/maximize resale value.
Much easier to sell a used bike at optimal pricing if it looks good and well cared for vs something with lots of visible wear and tear.
$20 of DIY protective film and a few hours of time can be worth several hundred dollars at resale time.
