Do we have too much traffic and participatin here?

I hardly consider the Titus forum the hotbed of traffic or activity. But despite that and with no clear rules posted (For the Titus forum only since the rest of the forums seem to not enforce these personal preferences) 2 threads have been locked. I know the fairwell to Chris post was off topic and turning into a worthless debate instead of a bon voyage thread but still these are discussion forums. You can make the differeing opinons or ill wills go away by locking posts.

The other is a thread I posted about my Titus Eleven frame being for sale which I bought an Ad on this sight so that I could post it without repercussions. Now it's locked and I can't edit it or answer questions. I can post this in the Weight Weenie forum or the SInglespeed forum and this wouldn't be an issue but I spot it to share the deal wth my Titus brethern and it is locked.

I have to ask why and to what rules should I refer to when making posts here?

These are mostly rhetorical and I am sure it won't be all popular but I think we should encourage positive posting in here and not just lock threads and stick out heads in the sand.

Asahi,

The posting guidelines for all the forums are here

As you may see, there was nothing dark about locking your spam thread. It's on Guideline Nr. 3.

You can also PM Gregg if you feel like it.

Peace, bro.
My apologies, that had not been the case and I hadn't seen the new ruling. That's a good enough reason not to buy anymore ads here. Waste of $2.

Who is Gregg, I'd be happy to share my thoughts.

Who is Francois then?

He's Francis Cebedo. Founder of mtbr.com and also Administrator.

He's down now due to a bad crash, but he should be checking his account and such.

Check the homepage, just below the Press and News.
Warp, I'm sorry to hear that about Francois. I'm PM'd Gregg and will see if he discusses anything worth Sharing.

I wanted to further express my dissappointment with the moderation in this thread. It seems here that my post that is within the guidlines you posted has been specifically edited to prove a point.

http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=171824

It had a link to my TItus Frame that is for sale after answering the question and even offering to provide pictures of the frame on the scale. Now if you read the TOS it states the message can't be spam (Mine was not the original message and was pertinent to the question). No were does it say that there cannot be links in the test of a reply (Since that isn't spam) or in signatures.

Had that been a link to someone else's for sale ad there would not have been an issue and no one would have paid attention but in the case that someone benefits from the post personally and an issue was taken. Why?

I am happy to respect the rules an will discuss them from Gregg but if I am acting within the rules posted then I take issue wth being moderated as a show of power. (Fell free to lock this thread)

Aren't you supposed to post your ad in the classifieds section? Thats what I did not too long ago and sold my bike within a week. Could that be the problem?
I sid that but the rules of sharing the ad with others has changed. That however is at least mentioned in the terms of service for the forums the restof the moderation is over thing not against the posting rules.

I don't know anything about your ad, but as far as the moderation goes Warps a reasonable guy, and I'm sure he'll take your thoughts into consideration.
Thanks, BA. Warp has been polite and we are discussing. This is not just about my add but closing things instead of working with the members. If the rules stop me from posting my ad then so be it.
I'm not happy with the "friendly" direction that MTBR has taken in the past year or two. There is an ignore function on the forum, you don't have to respond to a post and you don't have to read a post if you don't like it. "Personal attacks" pfffttt.. The Chris leaving thread was one of the best threads in this forum in a long time. I also want to say there is a difference between "personal attacks" and stalking though.

Having said the above, I do ageree that spam shouldn't be in the forums though.

Does anybody know if the ignore function works on PMs?

I don't know about Asahi sale thread, but the thread about CC turned into outright slandering and personal attacks, and as such, closing it was the right thing to do.
Zorg, I wouldn't disaree it was out of control but wouldn't we be better served to stop those that ruin it for the rest than to close the whole thing down and pretend it won't happen again?

I am not a moderator, but I would imagine that the culprit lost his new account with MTBR. :) Not that it won't stop from creating another one again.

Ugh! Slander is spoken Libel is written. It's also only libel if the statements written or said (slander) are untrue/false.

That thread confirmed a lot of what I've been thinking about Titus for the past year. I also think that it points to why there have been some QC issues going on at Titus. I, as a consumer I want to know if a company is having internal problems so I know how long customer support will be available and what type of customer support I can expect from that company.
I'm with Braids on this one...

I don't understand why Warp locked the "Shocked" thread. Punish the community because a few bad actors got out of control? WTF? Punish the bad actors and leave the community to post. This seems to be the reasonable persons way.

Warp should remove those insulting posts and warn or ban the bad actors.... not those of us who play by the rules.

Ya hear me Warp? Your doing a bang up job otherwise... keep up the good work.

Regards,

EndUser
shame shame shame.

the shocked thread was a pure example of what is wrong here. Dave Turner one of titus's competitors. starts the thread, he scoops the press releases and posts chris' good bye email here. and then posts that the company was stolen from Chris in a "messy divorce". chris is not his competition, titus is. remember that. any kind words he had for chris after the fact is nice for chris but looks bad for evil child steeling titus.

mintwelder is an X titus employ that got fired.

this forum should be about the bikes. people should have a place where they can ask other titus bike riders about how to set up the bikes or figure out if its normal for a horst bolt to fall out. or warn other people that they do fall out. should be a support group.

It should not be a place for competitors and X employees to undermine brand equity. shame shame shame.

never again. this is my last post in the titus forum. I don't sell bikes or make them I just ride them.

Come on man, don't let a little drama rob us of your presence on this board. :)

You're sure he was fired? Is that libel? Should this thread be closed now?

I love people who have such a high opinion of themselves that they have to make a good bye post. You're blind loyalty to a bike brand, lack of logical thought and "sensitivity" will not be missed by me.
